NETWORK TOPOLOGY

 Network Topology

Network topology is: the arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting lines. There are two ways of definingnetwork geometry: the physical topology and the logical (or signal) topology.

There is a few types of topology, such as
  • Star Topology
  • Bus Topology
  • Ring topology

STAR TOPOLOGY

examples of star topology
STAR TOPOLOGY : all the computers and other devices on network connect to a central device, thus forming a star.
=> There are two types of devices that provide a common central connection point to all the other devices on the network are  a hub and a switch.

BUS TOPOLOGY

BUS TOPOLOGY : a network setup in which each computer and network device are connected to a single cable or backbone

RING TOPOLOGY

RING TOPOLOGY : computer network configuration where the devices are connected to each other in a circular shape. Each packet is sent around the ring until it reaches its final destination. Then, connects each PC to two other PC’sin a ring formation. Each PC is set up to pass data from one machine to the next in this relay type of system. Each computer has an in and out port.
