NETWORK TOPOLOGY

 Network Topology

Network topology is: the arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting lines. There are two ways of definingnetwork geometry: the physical topology and the logical (or signal) topology.

There is a few types of topology, such as
  • Star Topology
  • Bus Topology
  • Ring topology

STAR TOPOLOGY

examples of star topology
STAR TOPOLOGY : all the computers and other devices on network connect to a central device, thus forming a star.
=> There are two types of devices that provide a common central connection point to all the other devices on the network are  a hub and a switch.

BUS TOPOLOGY

BUS TOPOLOGY : a network setup in which each computer and network device are connected to a single cable or backbone

RING TOPOLOGY

RING TOPOLOGY : computer network configuration where the devices are connected to each other in a circular shape. Each packet is sent around the ring until it reaches its final destination. Then, connects each PC to two other PC’sin a ring formation. Each PC is set up to pass data from one machine to the next in this relay type of system. Each computer has an in and out port.

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES

  5. awesomee...thank for the information.maybe we can define the network topology by the arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting lines. There are two ways of defining network geometry: the physical topology and the logical (or signal) topology.

  8. It must be stressful if one of nodes in the ring topology is fail to function properly because it can bring down the entire network.
